15-21 November 2021 – Workshop on the “Evacuation of Artefacts”

On 15 November Prof. Dr. Krist & team from the Institute for Conservation of the University of Applied Arts in Vienna visited Kavaja to have a weekly workshop on conservation of artefacts.

After the learning session the team headed to the Kavaja Ethnographic Museum to learn best practices and acquired expertise on protecting the artifacts and taking measures to ensure they are not damaged while stored while the museum is renovated.

The EU4Culture programme also started the cooperation with University of Tirana aiming to enhance Albanian students’ capacities and share best practices on the conservation of artefacts. The students expressed a high level of enthusiasm and teamwork while carrying out a delicate packing process ranging from the right type of wrapping paper to creating simple cushions for placing the fragile objects.
