23 June 2022 – Women-engineers: Change starts with you!
International Women in Engineering Day (INWED) celebrated today is an opportunity for us to acknowledge and celebrate the incredible work that female engineers deliver on a daily basis. It also serves as an excellent opportunity to remind and encourage women and young girls to pursue careers in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Meet our women-engineers who every single day prove that profession has no gender! Change starts with you!
“Engineering in general and restoration works in particular is not about who fits better, males or females. It is a specific way of thinking which once you embrace it, you can not unlearn and go back to the old way of thinking. First of all, It is about being a top professional and a responsible person and both male and female can achieve that”
Liri Shehaj, EU4Culture Engineer
“If you are interested in engineering, don’t hesitate because you might think it is a male-dominated industry. Gender diversity matters and men and women working together can help find the best solutions faster and more effectively”
Eralda Bushi, EU4Culture Engineer
“Since I was a little girl I was fascinated by flats outlays that I saw in the newspapers. Choosing an engineering profession was a challenge for me as people around me didn’t understand my choice and didn’t support me. I wanted to prove to everyone that a woman can be a successful engineer. If I was asked for advice by a young girl I would say this: “Choose the profession that you like and that motivates you and go for it!”
Elena López Sanz, EU4Culture Engineer from Spain
